The Edible Schoolyard

An article on the Examiner.com relates the story of Alice Waters, a Montessori guide who worked for several years in the late 1960’s before embarking on a career as a famous cookbook author and restaurateur.  In 1995 she founded the Edible Garden program, which “… is more than just a school program; it is a revolutionary way of teaching children about healthy eating, organic and sustainable farming, community building and care of the environment in a way that engages all of the senses and creates hands-on experiences.”

Check it out and decide for yourself and see what you think of the Edible Schoolyard.  Perhaps you’ll find inspiration, or at least a few new ideas and resources.
