England’s Professional Nanny of the Year competition finals include a man, Kris Pohl, for the first time in history.

Very few men choose to become a Male nanny, or Manny, but the number and acceptance of mannies is improving according to an article entitled Would You Hire a Male Nanny? found on the MenTeach website.

I learned about this video from MenTeach, and given my interest in all things New Zealand it was an easy choice to watch it.  

The video contains some interesting arguments supporting male ECE teachers, and some interesting examples of male influence in traditional ECE environments.
